If you require a more extensive restoration than a crown or have more than one tooth that needs to be repaired, one or more missing teeth, a good solution is a bridge.
a. Conventional – one or more all porcelain teeth are attached to a crown on one or both sides of a gap. And quite simply ‘bridges’ the gap. This method can involve a fair degree of tooth preparation in order for the crowns to fit secure on the remaining teeth on one or either side of the gap.
b. Adhesive - An all porcelain tooth is attached to a wing of metal /fibre and the wing is then glued to the adjacent tooth.
c. Implant retained - Some bridges can also be fixed to your jaw with dental implants, if you have several teeth next to each other that are missing.
Once you have a bridge fitted, you will have to take extra care during your daily hygiene regime to ensure it stays plaque free and does not cause bad breath. We recommend regular visits to your hygienist to ensure you are properly cleaning around your bridge and any other restorations you may have.
